On the run in to the long weekend, KICS hosted an event that had been omitted from the calendar last year – the Inter-House football competition.
This was played across 4 grades: U14 Boys and U14 Girls; U19 boys and U19 Girls.

Although there was a little bit of a struggle to gather enough players for all the houses to be represented, the Scorpions U14 boys, in true competitive style, massed ranks of 3 players strode out and put up a tremendous fight in both of their games, drawing level with their more numerous opponents but ultimately succumbing to the strains of competing with only 3 players. The Lions U14 boys managed, with some tired players returning from their Outdoor Education escapades, to perform well enough to sneak home for third place. Ahmed Sobahi is to be commended for his commitment to Football and his role as House Captain for motivating his house for this, and other events. As it turned out, both the boy’s grades had Dolphins versus Crocodiles finals. For the U14 boy’s final - Dolphins and Crocodiles were engaged in what was a reasonably comfortable game for the Dolphins to take out the win.  The senior boy’s final was played fairly aggressively by both teams with the eventual winners being the Dolphins.

The girl’s matches were also played competitively, again with both U14 Dolphins versus Crocodiles finals and the Lions romping home for third place. There is a common theme here! The Lions managed to sneak into 2nd place for the U19 girls, breaking the trend. As always, Noon El Nefeidi playing strongly the for the U19 girls Crocodiles – it’s difficult to beat a team that has Noon playing in. Well done to all the girls and to Dolphins and Lions U14 girls who battled with 3 aside games.
