December 2nd 2011 the first Annual KICS Riding School Gymkhana and Show Jumping. The day was hailed as a great success and was enjoyed by nearly 70 riders. The patio was full of parents and well wishers eager to see the children riding, the horses to be ridden were drawn from a hat so it was as fair as possible. The rosettes in KICS colours were much prized, as were the Riding School logo fridge magnets. The lead rein children took part in two competitions. Firstly the mug races where we had 10 heats, a semi final and a final. Then the ever popular musical crates run in the same format.

Section 2 was for older children. There was a bending race followed by a potatoe race, with some fierce competition and good finishes. During this interval we were treated to a polo demonstration with two riders and ponies showing their undoubted skill with a ball and stick. Mo Osman very kindly provided the players and ponies. The new Show Jumps came into their own with the mini Show Jumping competition producing 3 clear rounds, a good jump off with a very fast time winning. The Pick Your Own Line was run under the flood lights and again some determined riding produced a good competition.
