We gathered a large number of… AUDIENCE MEMBERS; Mixed in generously many ---SONGS and PIECES of MUSIC; and lots of ----APPLAUSE and had … The KICS Radio Show live! This was Senior Section Production for this academic year and it had all the trappings of a live studio broadcast except that we had no transmitter or radio antenna to really get the show further than the walls of the amphitheatre.
Students had auditioned for the show with a range of items. There were original compositions and remixes of music, verse and dance, as well as adaptations of original works. The show was scripted and organised by the students themselves and presented by the Masters of Ceremony, James Dindorf and Ahmed Sobahi.
A few highlights of the show were: Dan Yang Fu on piano with a flawless performance of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Sarah Idriss with her vocal solo of Celine Dion’s song I’m Alive, Luc Mvono on violin brought the audience into the Baroque period with Jean-Baptiste Lully’s Gavotte, Louis Torres on Alto Saxophone with his rendition of Hello Dolly also doing a great job with the “Armstrong voice” for the vocal solo. Then there was Einas Kamal, a self taught singer, among many other great performances. The list is longer than this article can contain. Congratulations to our many talented musicians for a great show!!
