The Junior Sports Morning was a great success. The weather favoured us and although some teachers were snuggling into fleeces at the beginning of the day, the activities soon warmed the students up and by ten am all were glad of the cool breeze. The most fun event was definitely the obstacle course, with the up and under, tyre scramble and tunnel crawl. The tunnel was a challenge to the few adults who took a turn on the course. The length and power of some of the ball throwing impressed even the PE team, when the longest ball went nearly double the 50 metres set up for the event!

Students ran with commitment on the 50 meter sprint, racing through the finish like professionals. Parents were inspired to follow their example, with mum's in particular being out on force on the track this year. KICS faculty showed their fitness though, with Ms Jura and Mr Daryl proving the fastest adults on the track! The 300 m was a challenge for some of our children, but everyone made it round the track and over the finish line to encouraging cheers.

The morning was a great mix of participation and fun for all with a balance between inclusion and competition. Everyone took part with heart, enjoyed themselves on the field, but in the end there had to be a winning team. Despite being the smallest team on the day, the Lions proved themselves true sports people, racking up a huge score of team points which ended the day with a very joyful roar indeed from the children. KICS Junior Faculty and Parents applaud the ATAC department for their superb organisation of this event and look forward to more sporting enjoyment this semester!
