Since half term, the KICS Endurance team has been training nearly every Friday. The team is improving very quickly. A number of our junior riders are no longer on a lead rein and are riding 7 to 14km without any troubles. Most of the adult riders are riding 30km without too many aching muscles the next day! Our youngest team members, Lara Exton and Jessica Radford are proving that age isn’t everything! Of course, the most important members of the team are the horses! They too are showing huge improvement in their fitness and attitude towards endurance!

The first ride after the half term break was out at El Waha Agricultural project. We took our most experienced riders and rode a very fast 30km. We had planned to do more of these rides but decided that we needed to improve the majority of the team members so that they too could ride those distances at that speed. So since then, all our rides have been held at KICS Stables with that in mind. The parents and family members of our riders have been very supportive and have given up their Friday morning lie ins to get the kids here at 6.30am! A great sacrifice!

Dr Wasfa and Blue Nile Dairy Ltd, continue to support us with drinks, ice and route preparation and we thank them very much for that.

Here are some photo’s. I hope you enjoy them.
