An important aspect of our school’s commitment to home-school partnership is the role of the Class Parent. Each class has at least one parent volunteer who acts as liaison between the school, teachers and parents.
In Primary, they are particularly active in welcoming new families to the class, arranging social events for the parents of children in the class and year group, and supporting the Class Teacher.
In Seniors, the role of the Class Parents is to organize parent workshops, either whole section or for specific Year groups, on issues where parents and students may need guidance and advice. Workshops given to date include dealing with examination stress, when private tutoring should and should not be used, and cyber-bullying. Class Parents also welcome new families to the year group and arrange social events for the parents of children in the year group.
